“Lisa Kyle Young – Photographer, Artist, and Travel Blogger”

I love color, I love art, I love my camera, and I love traveling!!

I have always enjoyed photography ever since I was given my first Brownie Reflex from my father for a trip to New York City when I was about 8 or 9 years old. I also have always loved art enjoying coloring with crayons when I was a toddler and continuing to change my media as I grew.

I graduated with a Computer Science degree from University of California, Irvine and worked in the international professional IT environment for many, many years before moving into photography and art full time. I shoot portrait and stock photography both on location and in a studio environment. I enjoy experimenting with different lenses and different photographic techniques for both the challenge and the education.

I received my photography training from the New York Institute of Photography (NYIP) and frequently attend photography and artist design workshops and seminars to help expand my knowledge and provide new inspiration.

I love to sketch with charcoal and graphite and continually experiment with different types of paint. Together with the photography and the painting I create mixed media art combining my love of both worlds. I enjoy all types of digital multimedia and use Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro. I feel the inspiration for my mixed media work comes not only from other photographers and artists but also from my own creations and from my travel experiences.  As Burk Uzzle says, “Photography is a love affair with life!”. My sentiments exactly. My husband and I tour North America in our motorhome on and off throughout the year. Check out our travelogue at Those Young Guys.

And in my spare time I also love to cook & bake, sew, and do any kind of craft. Basically I just love to create!
